Manaslu Mountain, Mountain of the Spirit
Mount Manaslu, the eighth highest mountain in the world at 8,163 meters, lies on the border between Gorkha and Manang districts in northern Nepal, just 64 km east of the Annapurna mountain range. The Manaslu region spans from lush sub-tropical foothills to the arid Trans-Himalayan highlands near the Tibetan border. The name "Manaslu" is derived from the Sanskrit word "Manasa," meaning “Mountain of the Spirit,” reflecting its deep spiritual and cultural significance in Nepalese and Buddhist traditions.
